Toni is a mom, military wife, and the founder of Sage & Silk Room in Shilo, Manitoba. She specializes in full body sugaring using clean, intentional products from RÄ, with a strong focus on supporting and representing a brand grown right here in Manitoba.
While sugaring is at the core of her services, Toni is deeply committed to skin health, placing emphasis on education, aftercare, and vajacial treatments to support long-term results. Her studio is thoughtfully designed to feel safe and welcoming, creating a space where every client feels comfortable, cared for, and confident.
What inspired you to become a sugarist?
Sugaring felt like the perfect balance of flexibility and purpose. As a mom, building something meaningful of my own mattered deeply. With my personal history of vaginal sensitivity, working with clean, intentional products made this career path feel aligned and purposeful.
What’s one business tool, system, or habit you truly can’t live without?
Self-reflection. I constantly evaluate my technique, client experience, and systems. Growth comes from staying open to learning and refining that mindset has been essential to building a strong foundation.
What’s one goal you’re currently working toward in your business?
My goal is for Sage & Silk Room to become a trusted space for intimate skin health in Manitoba. known not just for results, but for education, comfort, and long-term care. I want every client who walks through my door to feel safe, understood, and fully themselves.
What’s your favourite sugaring service to perform and why?
Brazilians. They require technical precision and trust. I love the focus they demand and the confidence clients gain from a service that’s both intimate and transformative.
How did you discover RÄ and what made you choose to use and carry our products?
The educator who trained me used RÄ throughout our course, and I immediately fell in love with both the sugar paste and the aftercare products. Because of my own sensitivity, choosing products that genuinely respect intimate skin was non-negotiable.
What’s your go-to paste consistency and why does it work for you?
For Brazilians, I prefer a firm paste at the correct temperature for optimal grip and precision. For larger areas, I reach for soft paste for a smoother, more fluid application.
What’s your favourite RÄ aftercare product and why do you recommend it to clients?
The Vajacial Gel. I apply it immediately after a Brazilian and allow it to absorb while the client relaxes. It soothes, hydrates, and helps minimize irritation, making post sugaring recovery more comfortable.
